Senior Payroll Coordinator

Salary Range/Hourly: DOE

Position Summary:  This position,under limited supervision is responsible for collecting and managing employee work hours and processing bi-weekly, payroll through ADP PayXpert and Enterprise Time Keeping systems   Must be familiar with payroll adjustments, e.g., shortages, garnishments, manual computation of gross and net pay, PTO, etc. and familiar with California labor and wage laws.

Minimum Education and Experience:  AA or equivalent education and experience that would provide candidate with the skills to manage the functions and responsibilities of processing a bi-weekly 500+ payroll including time keeping system and three (3) years payroll experience with ADP payroll and time keeping systems. Job Summary:  This member of the ACT (Assertive Community Treatment) multidisciplinary team has training and licensure in a mental health field and clinical skills and experience to assess, plan, develop, coordinate, and provide treatment, rehabilitation, and support services to program participants with severe and persistent mental illness under the clinical supervision of the team leader and the team psychiatrist.  Functions as a clinical member of the multidisciplinary team and provides treatment, rehabilitation, and support services or may be designated by the team leader to function as the lead mental health professional.  Must be able to implement a variety of best-practice therapeutic interventions.

Education and License Requirements: 

Post-secondary education and graduate school professional training, including internship.  Unrestricted license from the State of California Board of Behavioral Sciences (LCSW or MFT) or the State of California Board of Board of Psychology (PhD, licensed clinical psychologist). 

 

Minimum Experience: 

  • Two years post-licensure practice in mental health setting or working directly with the homeless population.

Market Experience:

Position Summary:  To interview clients and complete bio-psycho-social assessments, develop comprehensive case plan recommendations, and make referrals to appropriate medical, mental health, and addiction services.

 

Minimum Education and Experience:  BA/BS in Human Services and a minimum of three months experience doing psychosocial assessments, including evaluating mental health and addiction issues or three months counseling center or assessment center internship at the Village.  Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word and Outlook, and ability to master client data base system.

 

Preferred Education and Experience:  MA/MS in Human Services and one year of experience doing psychosocial assessments, including evaluating mental health and addiction issues or one year counseling center or assessment center internship at the Village.

CASE MANAGEMENT

Administrative Assistant

Salary Range/Hourly: DOE OE

Position Summary: Provides administrative and secretarial support to the Case Management, Career and Education and V-Care Program Manager and staff.  Assists and supports Case Management, Career and Education and V-Care staff in accomplishing their functions and responsibilities.  Incorporates knowledge of modern office procedures, equipment and computer software to accomplish these goals. 

Minimum Education and Experience: High school diploma or training/certification in office administration and a minimum of two years experience of adminstrative work in a secretarial role.  Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word and Outlook, and ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.

DIRECTOR OF PERMANENT HOUSING

Position Summary:       S.V.D.P. Management, Inc. (dba Father Joe’s Villages) is a dynamic non-profit social service agency providing residential and supportive services to the homeless in San Diego.  Father Joe’s Villages is the property owner, developer, manager, and key partner of multiple complexes that provide a continuum of care for homeless individuals and families.  Father Joe’s Villages currently operates 142 units of permanent affordable and permanent supportive housing, with a variety of supportive services provided by sister agency St. Vincent de Paul Village.  The agency is currently developing three additional multi-family affordable housing communities, with a total of 225 additional units, that are scheduled to open within 2009-2010.

The Director of Permanent Housing is responsible for the overall financial and operational performance of a growing portfolio of affordable housing communities.  The Director works collaboratively and cooperatively within the management team of Father Joe’s Villages  to accomplish the mission of the Program, Division and the Organization.  The Director manages a staff of two (2) Asset Managers, up to five (5) On-site Resident Managers, two (2) Housing Counselors, and oversees the daily activities of the facilities and security staff.

Minimum Education and Experience:  Bachelors’ Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Real Estate or other appropriate discipline and three (3) years’ experience as an asset manager; including staff supervision in addition to:

Market Education and Experience:  Certified Property Manager, Nonprofit Housing Specialist certification or equivalent experience and five (5) years experience managing affordable housing of more than one site with in-depth knowledge of Section 8, HOME funds, HUD SHP, HUD Shelter + Care, Low Income Housing Tax Credits, and other financing sources in addition to:  

  • In-depth knowledge of applicable local and federal housing laws and guidelines, including Fair Housing and Landlord/Tenant Law. 
  • Well versed in income guidelines and eligibility requirements for affordable housing tenants.
  • Experience supervising a variety of staff positions, including resident managers, property managers, housing counselors, maintenance personnel and contractors.
  • Computer literate in property management software and other relevant data-base programming.

 

Preferred Education and Experience:  Masters Degree in related field or other equivalent and seven (7) years experience managing affordable housing with three or more sites and three (3) years managing affordable housing projects with special needs tenants.

ADOLESCENT RESIDENTIAL COUNSELOR (ARC/LIFE SKILLS)

Part-time, Swing Shift, 3:00 - 11:30 p.m.

On-call:  Cover holidays, vacation, day, evening and weekend shifts

Salary/Hourly Range: $10.94 - $14.22

Position Summary: Responsible and accountable for the management, supervision, monitoring, and documentation of assigned residents throughout the shift. Responsible for helping to maintain a safe and therapeutic milieu for all residents by enforcing program philosophy, the social learning model and rules and expectations of the program. Operates as an effective team member and assists in supporting the case/treatment plan recommendations on assigned residents. Note: Weekends may require participation in off-site activities and/or occasional overnight outings.

Minimum Education and Experience: BA or equivalency, computer literate, plus a minimum of 6 months with high-risk youth, preferably in a residential setting. Current CA Driver's License and ability to meet insurance carrier requirements of drive agency vehicle/van. 

 

Preferred Education and Experience: BA in Human Services or course work and experience equal to six years in related field. Will consider volunteer work in human services and Bilingual in Spanish a plus. Three years experience with high-risk youth or two years experience in a residential program with one year working in chemical dependency setting. Candidate must have strong communication skills, oral and written, computer literate and knowledge of community resources.

SUPPORT SERVICES

COOK

Salary/Hourly Range: $10.23 - $11.30

Position Summary:       Prepare all major food items for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, with techniques including, but not limited to: knife skills, steam/boil, sauté, roast, fry, braise/stew, grill, and bake.  Maintain temperature control charts of all food items produced.  Ensure the proper handling/storage of all food items in accordance with healthcare standards and sanitation/health regulations.  Duty cook is also responsible to assess and assign clients and volunteers with set up and break down of dining room and supervise volunteers and residents that have been assigned in the kitchen.  This cook must be able to consider many details during the course of a shift and demonstrate good team work and interact courteously and correctly with all FJV employees, guests and visitors.

Minimum Education and Experience:  High school diploma/G.E.D. or equivalent education and experience such as two (2) years as a cook (one year of institutional cooking) with large volume production.  Demonstrated ability to communicate read and follow menus and recipes effectively in English and compute basic mathematical calculations; Food Handlers Card.

 

Preferred Education and Experience:  BA in Culinary Arts; ServSafe Certified and five (5) years cooking with at least one year of institutional cooking with large volume production such as a hospital, school, etc.

CUSTODIAN

Salary/Hourly Range: $8.21 - $8.84

 

Job Summary: Performs housekeeping and janitorial duties to maintain offices, meeting and conference rooms, rest rooms and public areas in a clean and orderly condition.  Sweeps, dusts, mops, strips, waxes and vacuums floors using equipment such as brooms, mops, vacuum, buffers and shampooer.  Removes trash from offices and other areas.  Cleans rest rooms, mixes own cleaning solutions to appropriate strength.  Replenishes soap, towels, and tissue containers and performs related tasks.  Assists room set up and break down; assists other service personnel with minor repairs.   NOTE:  Ability to read and understand cleaning instructions and information.  

Minimum Education and Experience:  Ability to read and understand and follow cleaning instructions and demonstrated ability to follow instructions for the proper mixing and uses for specific products (e.g. what solvents can harm certain surfaces, what cleaning chemicals can not be mixed, etc.)  Three months experience in housekeeping or working for a janitorial service.  Will consider trade/vocational certificate.  Demonstrated knowledge of the type of duties one would encounter as a custodian.  

 

Preferred Education and Experience:  High School or equivalent experience and education that would provide candidate with the necessary skills to perform all housekeeping duties and six months working in hospitality/hotel, hospital, school or working for a janitorial service that has office/building janitorial contract services.  

 

 

SECURITY OFFICERS

Salary/Hourly Range: $8.57 - $10.70

 

Position Summary: Patrol premises & property to ensure safety & provide a secure environment for residents, clients, guests, employees, volunteers and shelter property. The security officer will enforce all rules & regulations  set forth for the operation of the Village.

Minimum Education and Experience: High school or equivalent education and experience that would provide the skills and knowledge to successfully perform duties and responsibilities of the position which include strong customer service focus and excellent communication skills and ability to clearly and concisely enter log entries, write incident reports.  Six months experience in Security field with public contact. Valid California Driver's License, Valid California Guard Card. Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus. 

Preferred Education and Experience:  PC 832 or POST and two years experience working with at-risk population or four years Military Police Service.

Position Summary: Assigned specific routes by Dispatch and follows route to destinations for pick-up and delivery of donations and supplies.  Assumes responsibility for the upkeep and maintenance of truck and supervision of assigned helper.  Model and follow all safety standards and best practices.

Minimum Education and Experience: Six months driving "light" truck with standard 5 speed transmission under heavy load.  Demonstrated ability to read maps and knowledge of San Diego County.  Lift and carry up to 100 pounds with assistance.
