MEDIA ADVISORY

World-renowned Artist to Visit
St. Vincent’s Toussaint Teen Center

SAN DIEGO – British artist MacKenzie Thorpe will visit St. Vincent de Paul Village’s Toussaint Teen Center, 1404 Fifth Avenue, on Tuesday, January 27, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., to share his life experience and collaborate with the youngsters on a special art project that, when completed, will be displayed at La Jolla’s Fingerhut Gallery.

One of the most interesting and original artists at work in Britain today, Thorpe is known throughout the world for his intensely colorful paintings and the universal message his artwork conveys.

Founded in 1992, the Toussaint Teen Center serves as a home for homeless and abandoned youths. In addition to finding refuge from the streets, teens have access to an education, counseling, chemical dependency programs and other rehabilitative services that ultimately prepare them for self-sufficient adulthoods.
