Hearts
on Fire Ball to Benefit M.A.S.H. Village
"Friends
of M.A.S.H." Host Valentines Day in the Name of Less
Fortunate
Las Vegas The newly-formed service organization Friends of
M.A.S.H. Village will host their first event this Saturday from
6:30- 11 p.m., a Valentines-appropriate "Hearts on Fire"
celebration to be held at the Spanish Trails Country Club.
An
expected 200 guests will don red cocktail attire enjoy "Performance
Food", music, dancing and a silent auction, with all proceeds
directly supporting the building fund for M.A.S.H.s New Transitional
Living Center. An extension of the Villages comprehensive
homeless rehabilitation services, the planned facility will offer
increased space for education and job training programs, as well
as a full-service dining facility and Health Services Center.
Father
Joe Carroll, who is expected to be on hand to meet and greet with
guests and Friends of M.A.S.H. Village members, feels that such
a group is vital to the success of a charity, not just from a fundraising
standpoint but also for increasing public awareness.
"We
love to have a group such as this come to us with an offer of support,
especially when its a voluntary, longer-term relationship,"
he says. "Once someone actually comes out and sees all the
things we accomplish, the lives we change every day, they then become
ambassadors for our programs, our facilities and our people. This
kind of support is invaluable."
