Local Business to Hold Charity Drive Benefiting St. Vincent's
GMI Opens Doors to Customers, Opens Heart to the Homeless

   SAN DIEGO – GMI Building Services and Guard Management, a local integrated facilities solutions company specializing in commercial maintenance and security for area business properties, is holding an open house and fund-raiser for St. Vincent de Paul Village on Friday, June 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 8001 Vickers Street.

   The raised funds will come from three different sources: a car wash that will be taking place Friday, the sale of raffle tickets to event attendees and an internal cash gift from GMI. Organizers of the open house are hoping to raise at least $5,000, an amount that would make a tremendous difference to the Village, says Father Joe Carroll, president of St. Vincent's.

   "We've been searching for reputable companies to partner with, but it was GMI that found us and took the initiative to make this fund raiser happen," he says. "The gift will make a substantial difference in the lives of the children, families and single adults who depend on St. Vincent's for help."

   More than 800 invitations were sent to clients of GMI and Father Joe is hopeful for a strong turnout at the inaugural event.

   "Obviously, the more people who attend, the bigger the donation to St. Vincent's, so we have our fingers crossed," he says. "GMI is a quality, reputable company that has been doing business in San Diego for a while, and its client-base is loyal – we have every expectation for a successful event."
