Village’s Mobile Café Will
Spice Things Up at Street Scene
SAN DIEGO – MoJoe’s
Mobile Café, a lunch wagon
operated by St. Vincent de Paul Village clients participating in
the organization’s culinary training program, will serve
up a Cajun feast at this year’s Street Scene. The truck will
be parked between Island Avenue and J Street, next to the Southwest
Airlines Blues Stage from 5 p.m. today until the event’s
closing at 9 p.m. Sunday. The six-month Culinary Arts Program
(CAP) prepares Village clients for careers in the food-services industry
and includes internships
with local hotels and restaurants. Students enrolled in the program
graduate as certified culinary professionals.
Staffing the mobile
café this weekend will be six culinary
students and two St. Vincent’s staff members. The menu
will include jambalaya, gumbo and steamed crawfish.
MoJoe’s
Mobile Café has been serving San Diego for the
past four months and regularly visits the St. Vincent’s
warehouse and auto auctions. The café is also available
for private-party catering. Contact David Miles at (619) 233-8500,
ext. 1133 for
more information.
Media inquires will be taken at
