Father Joe to Hold Jam Session at Downtown
Restaurant
Evening Will Provide Plenty of Food, Fun and Song
SAN DIEGO President of
St. Vincent de Paul Village Fr. Joe Carroll will join 20 internationally
renown musicians on Friday, September 20, at 5 p.m. at Buca Di Beppo
restaurants downtown location, 705 6th Avenue, for a welcoming
dinner and jam session, a precursor to Saturdays second annual
San Diego Unity Gospel Fest, where the artists will perform. The
proceeds from the weekend concert will benefit St. Vincents.
Artists Greg Magirescu, Aaron
Thompson, Edna T. Robinson and others will share their talents with
restaurant patrons and Fr. Joe as they enjoy food and drink.
"Im looking forward
to an evening of good food and entertainment," says Fr. Joe.
"(Buca Di Beppo) will provide an intimate and lively setting
for these musicians to display their talents."
Buca Di Beppo host Holly Bennett
says the large gathering and live music will add to an already electric
atmosphere.
"Were known as a place
where people can come, enjoy great food and have a great time,"
she says. "We love for people to party and we look forward
to Fr. Joe a regular at our restaurant and his group
to continue that tradition."
The San Diego Unity Gospel Fest
will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, at Brown Chapel,
on the campus of Point Loma Nazarene University, 3900 Lomaland Drive.
For more information on the gospel fest or to purchase tickets,
please call (619) 687-1066. Tickets may also be purchased the day
of the event at the door.
