Local Attorneys Will Gather to Support Village
Children
Event Also Recognizes Integrity, Devotion of Legal Community
SAN DIEGO As many as
500 members of San Diegos legal community will gather at the
Manchester Hyatt Hotel Downtown San Diego at 1 Market Place on Saturday,
October 26 at 5:30 p.m. for the 18th annual "Red" Boudreau
Trial Lawyers Dinner to support children living at St. Vincent
de Paul Village.
Named after Maurice "Red"
Boudreau, a local trial attorney and one of the founding board members
of St. Vincents, the dinner funds the many childrens
programs at the Village, which is home to as many as 200 young people
who access the many rehabilitative programs offered at the downtown
facility. Services such as on-site health care, a state-certified
childcare facility, literacy programs and family counseling are
funded in part by the annual outreach.
President of St. Vincents,
Fr. Joe Carroll, commended the annual outreach of the San Diego
legal community.
"For 18 years we have held
this event to recognize the integrity of those in the field of law,"
he said. "Their devotion and generosity to Childrens
Services at St. Vincents prove this celebration is well-deserved."
Part of the celebration includes
the presentation of the Daniel T. Broderick III Award for Civility,
Integrity and Professionalism. This years recipient is David
E. Monahan, partner at Gray Cary, a Silicon Valley-based law firm
that represents emerging growth and high technology companies.
The American Board of Trial
Advocates, San Diego Defense Lawyers, Association of Business Trial
Lawyers and Consumer Attorneys of San Diego are sponsoring the event.
