Local Hotel Welcomes St. Vincents Trick-or-treaters
Halloween Marks Beginning of Busy Holiday Schedule for Village Residents
SAN DIEGO As many as
110 children from St. Vincent de Paul Village, all adorned in Halloween
garb, will get an early start on trick-or-treating at Embassy Suites,
601 Pacific Highway, on Wednesday, October 30, from 2 p.m. to 4
p.m.
The children will make their
way along a floor of the hotel reserved solely for them, stopping
at each room to bellow a familiar Halloween ultimatum with the hope
of filling their bags with treats rather than resorting to tricks
for those without a stash of sweets.
"The kids are really looking
forward to trick-or-treating at Embassy Suites," says St. Vincents
Volunteer Services Coordinator Laura Kojima. "Its these
types of special events that make a positive difference in the lives
of our children and were grateful for this special opportunity."
The trick-or-treating will end
with a meal prepared by the hotel staff for the St. Vincents
visitors, but the day will mark only the beginning of special activities
for Village residents during the holiday season.
"This time of year is such
an exciting and uplifting time for everyone at St. Vincents,"
says Fr. Joe Carroll, president of the Village. "Kids go to
Seussabration, families get professional portraits done thanks to
Chic Images its a magical time and its truly
inspirational to see the community get behind us to make such long-lasting
contributions to the lives of the people we serve."
