Martha’s Village & Kitchen Celebrates Two Anniversaries

   Over 100 business people from local Chambers of Commerce and elected officials helped Martha’s Village & Kitchen celebrate the second anniversary of the Village and the first anniversary of its Medical Clinic on April 29, 2003.

   Senator Jim Battin presented a Resolution to co-founders Gloria Gomez and Claudia Castorena from the California Senate to observe the occasions and to acknowledge the success of the Village since its opening.

   Guests enjoyed music, food and a special cake to commemorate the anniversaries and enjoyed tours of the Village during the networking mixer.

   Many taking the tour were first-time visitors who were visibly impressed with the array of programs and services provided. Many commented on the suitability of the Continuum of Care philosophy that is inherent in the programs of Father Joe’s Villages.

   The event was a wonderful opportunity to meet our neighbors and for all of us to learn moreabout one another – ensuring that our "neighbors helping neighbors" way of life thrives.
