F.O.W.A. – Future Oscar Winners of America

   Toussaint Teen Center (TTC) residents recently the Grand Recognition Award at the 2003 iVIE (Innovative Video in Education) Awards sponsored by the San Diego County Office of Education. Celebrating their achievement with Father Joe are (from left) Richard, Sara, Vania, and Oscar.

   TTC’s Teen Quest High School teacher Jeff Heil coached the teens, whose video "Runaway" also earned a Special Achievement in a Public Service award. The competition was open to every San Diego County School with participants from high schools in Rancho Bernardo, San Marcos, Pauma Valley and San Diego.

   Among the prizes the teens won is a week-long course at the Digital Media Academy at Stanford University this summer.
