"Uptown" Thrift Store Opens in Palm Springs
By Diane Glanz - Martha’s Village & Kitchen

Martha’s Village & Kitchen officially opened its second thrift store February 7, 2003 in nearby Palm Springs. The grand opening included a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony and a great sale.

The store, formerly owned by Desert Charities, was offered to Martha’s late last year. It stands fully equipped with business machines, display counters and wonderful volunteers ready to serve our terrific customers.

We were fortunate to hire Lisa Thomas to serve as the Retail Manager of the new store as well as the existing Indio Store. Lisa comes to us with a merchandising background and extensive experience in charity retail operations. She has lots of exciting ideas and plans for displaying, updating and moving merchandise.

The new store, located at 2500 North Palm Canyon Drive, Suite B2, is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is closed on Sunday and Monday. For information, call 760.320.3198.
