Ed McEvoy: A True Friend of Children and Teens

Ed McEvoy found success in the Navy, in his landscaping
business and in music. According to his good friend Thad McCarty,
Ed was a leader, entrepreneur, faithful friend, good husband, but
a modest man. Ed died on September 2, 2002. As a widower with no
children, he spent a good amount of time making his estate plans.
He toured Father Joes Villages® and met with the estate
planning staff to discuss his plans.
Eds estate plans included
a generous large gift to fund two programs that he had a special
interest inthe childrens program and the Toussaint Teen
Center.
Ed had good reason to use
his resources to create an endowment for the children and the teen
programs. When Eds mother was unable to care for him, he was
raised in a Catholic orphanage in Northern California. For Ed the
orphanage was an opportunity to learn discipline, excel in academics
and develop musical talent. Those abilities aided him throughout
his personal and professional life. Even in the last year of his
life, he lived in a retirement home where he showed great kindness
to others and shared his musical talent with other residents. Ed
wanted the children and teens of Father Joes Villages®
to have the same opportunities to improve themselves and to become
productive and morally upright citizens.
Thank you Ed for your gift.
Thank you for including Father Joes Villages® in your
estate plan. Thank you for doing estate planning!
